Barnet Odeon closes to become an Everyman Cinema

We’ve known for a few months that Everyman Cinemas were taking over our iconic movie house, but the Barnet Odeon has now announced its closure explaining that their closest screen is now Lee Valley. I’ve had a quick chat with the Everyman Cinema Group who weren’t giving much away, but we can expect the old Odeon to remain closed for while for refurbishment. I was told that the Muswell Hill Odeon was closed for two weeks before recently reopening as an Everyman, but our cinema will take longer. This was confirmed by Odeon staff on site this morning who explained that Everyman take possession of the building on Thursday and will be carrying out initial refurbishments for two to three weeks before more comprehensive works take place later in the year.
