Boutique & Bakes

Retail keeps taking a knocking, but here in Barnet we can boast imaginative, creative businesses on our High Street. While some are sadly forced to close, others open, so there’s always a sense of hope and quality traders to get behind.

Boutique & Bakes which opened in April 2023 is a collaboration between Louise Franco (Portobello Road Princess and previously The Present), Emma Hawkins (Trinket Fairy Designs) and Donna Reynolds (Blonde Bakes) who met trading at the community pop-up Chipping Work Shop on the corner of Moxon Street.

After a successful few months they took over their current site when the Chipping Work Shop closed. The shop was reformatted to incorporate a small tearoom at the back of the shop, with space for gifts, jewellery, homewares and clothes at the front. The shop has been glammed up and is a stylish, welcoming place for browsing and then relaxing over a tea and cake, with its warm, communal atmosphere.

Our pictures give a taste of the tempting range of things on offer, but, if you haven’t already, do go and have a look in person. (And the cakes are fabulous – you could always have a brisk walk around Hadley Green afterwards!)
