“We stand for:

Equal Representation: we can create an equal Parliament in just two elections. Without change, we will be waiting at least 50 years.

Equal Pay & Opportunity: we can make equal pay a reality. For every hour they work, women still earn just 81p of every pound earned by men.

Equal Parenting & Care-giving: more men want the chance to care for and enjoy time with their families. And women want a better work/life balance.

Equal Education: we can use our nurseries and schools as engine rooms of possibility, inspiring young women and men to achieve their full potential, free from gendered expectations about the life they should live.

Equal Media Treatment: equality for women requires real cultural change and the media has to be at the centre of that.

End Violence to Women: sexism, sexual harassment and domestic violence is faced on a daily basis by ordinary women, in ordinary places. We will use all possible means to make women feel safe in the home, on the street, on public transport and in the workplace, i.e. everywhere.

Equality in Healthcare and Medical Research: to ensure better health outcomes and access and provision of treatment and support.
Because equality is better for everyone.

If you are keen to make a difference we absolutely need your support, now more than ever.”

“The London Orienteering Klubb (LOK) draws its members from the north side of the River Thames and to the west of the Lea Valley. It competes against other clubs and hosts local and regional races.

Our runners are of all ages, from beginners to national standard atheletes. New members are most welcome and training can be given.

The sport is of Swedish origin, and we have used the Swedish spelling in our name.”

“The Lyonsdown Club was founded in mid 1895 and is the oldest Snooker & Billiards club in the UK and the World. This small but exclusive club has been continually active since its opening.

The Lyonsdown Club is in New Barnet, Hertfordshire and was originally a stable, the premises formerly being part of Oakwood House Estate.

Without question, we have to say that our club and members are deeply indebted to past members who did so much to forge the development and structure of the club.

Currently, the Lyonsdown Club is in a very healthy position. The Club works very hard to keep an even balance of membership and availability of table time. With this in mind, the membership is monitored regularly by the Management Committee.

First and foremost, to be a member of the Lyonsdown Club, you have to have an interest in snooker or billiards, and play the game. We do not wish to allow membership to anyone who has no interest in the game.”

“A community wind band based in Barnet, north London, the first incarnation of Barnet Band was formed in 1889. This makes us one of Barnet’s oldest musical organisations. During the summer, we play at fetes, community events, and bandstands, while Christmas sees us participating at Barnet’s Christmas Fair in The Spires shopping centre. We also give concerts for local charities, and over the years have been privileged to help many worthy causes.

Barnet Band is a not-for-profit organisation run by its members. As a community wind band, we accept new members without audition and we don’t ask for grades. We aim for rehearsals to be fun and sociable occasions. There’s always a teabreak.

If that sounds what you’re looking for, please come along and try us out. You will find us very friendly and be made extremely welcome.

We are currently seeking clarinets and brass players. So if you play clarinet, tuba, trombone, French horn, euphonium or trumpet, fancy playing in a friendly community band and can spare Wednesday evenings to rehearse, why not come along and give us a try?”

“Barnet University of the Third Age (Barnet U3A) offers people no longer in full-time employment an opportunity for life-long learning, friendship and hopefully some fun.”

“Each month we hold a friendly indoor meeting to discuss local cycling issues. We also look at specific aspects of cycling with a speaker, video or a practical demonstration on cycle maintenance. We can give you help and advice on bikes and cycling. Meetings are on the last Thursday of each month at 8pm in the Carey Hall of Trinity Church Centre, 15 Nether St. North Finchley N12 7NN, a short way down Nether Street from Tally Ho.

We run a programme of rides for the average cyclist who wants to enjoy the peace of the countryside, good food and a relaxed social atmosphere. All day rides are held on the third Sunday of every month – more in summer! You can ride in a group at an easy pace with a leader to show the way, and stop for lunch at a pub or café. And you can be sure you won’t be left behind. Usual start is from North Finchley at 10am. Evening rides too, in the summer.”

“Choirs R Us is a lively, friendly choir in Barnet for adults and young people of all singing abilities. We sing pop, soul and gospel songs in harmony. There’s no audition and no need to be able to read music as the songs are taught by ear. You’ll learn how to control your voice through vocal and breathing techniques and have great fun along the way.

We have over 100 choir members from the borough of Barnet who sing their hearts out every Monday evening, and it’s a great way to make new friends while expressing yourself through the music.”
