We’re excited to share some positive news about the High Street. Shops and other businesses might be struggling, but, increasingly, people are thinking outside the box and coming up with other ideas for these premises.
Opening soon in the old Dudley’s Pancake House is The Family Business Hub, a co-working café and workshop space set over two floors. If, like many people, you are home-based parents juggling work and toddlers, then this could be for you. Useful features include a flexible crèche service in the ground floor playroom (with DBS checked staff) as well as a private meeting room available for hire on an hourly or daily basis. The Family Business Hub should help you avoid those awkward work calls from the loo or bathroom in a desperate attempt at privacy or late nights at your desk once the children are in bed. So many of us have been there.
The space will also be available for hire in the evenings and at weekends for a range of different events and activities with in-house chefs available for your catering requirements. Practical workshops are also being planned.
The Family Business Hub should be ready to open in early May and if you follow them on social media, you’ll see mouth-watering pictures of tasty treats being trialled for the menu. The pictures above show designs for the co-workspace in the basement.
With increasing numbers of people now working freelance from home and juggling responsibilities, this is a great idea. We’ll be reporting again once they’re open.
