The Pink Shop

Barnet has form when it comes to pop-up shops and this latest one is no exception.

With the Brake Shear House redevelopment still awaiting approval, another vacant premises included in the plan has been taken over by two talented and enterprising women. Petra Patrick and Tracie Murchison who were part of the original stylish line-up of craftswomen behind Room 89 and previously Love Barnet’s pop-up shop, 89 have just opened this distinctive new venture on the High Street.

Petra is noted for her hand-made beaded and gemstone jewellery and Tracie creates one-off artworks and decorative items using an eclectic range of materials. In addition to selling their own work, they are inviting other artists and creative businesses space to merchandise their products and these will change on a fortnightly basis. Check their Facebook page for details of what’s currently available and any upcoming events and how to get involved. For many people, this is an opportunity to have an affordable presence on the High Street (as mini pop-ups) and social media should help keep potential customers informed. There is also outdoor space at the back which offers more scope.

The Pink Shop is around the corner from Brake Shear House, Barnet’s new creative quarter and home to businesses including Applebee House and Nightingale’s Emporium, so perfect for a weekend’s browse.
