Barnet Vale Festival
Come and visit Tudor Park and enjoy live music, informative talks on the local area and environment throughout the day, stalls and food vendors. This is the second year we have run the festival and the object is for a fun day out for people in the local community, but also to heighten awareness of the project to renovate, refurbish and restore the currently derelict and delapidated 104 year old Maws Pavilion in the Park. Party on the Green -St John the Baptist Church
On Saturday 24th August, St John the Baptist Church will be welcoming all to the Party on the Green. Lunch available at the BBQ, plus Pimm's and Prosecco. Stalls, including a Tombola and raffle plus a bouncy castle will be on the green. Music provides by the Ukulele and Da Capo bands will be accompanying the fun. Haloween in High Barnet: a Guided Walk
Explore the ghostly history of High Barnet and Monken Hadley, the second most haunted village in England, on a fun two-hour guided walk for Halloween. Ideal for all ages from 5-95. The walk takes place on Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th, Wednesday 30th, and Thursday 31st October, all at 7.30pm. We meet outside High Barnet tube station, by the car park. The walk lasts two hours, and costs £15, £5 under 12s. Please bring a phone/torch, as we'll be walking through a churchyard. And watch out, there's some audience participation. Battle of Barnet Guided Walk
It's a fun, informative two-hour tour of the famous battlefield of 1471 (Wars of the Roses). Hear about the day when THREE kings of England (including Richard III, pictured) came to spend the day in Barnet. Discover why the battle took place, and why it happened here, how the fight developed, who won, and how the weather played a major part in the outcome of one of the most important battles in English history. Two free shuttle buses will be running between The Spires, in the service road by Waitrose, to the venue. Spaces on the shuttle bus are pre-bookable online which guarantees a space on the bus, otherwise there would be a 15-minute wait. Unfortunately the buses are unable to take wheelchairs.
