Free screening of Hidden Figures in aid of supporting visit by twinned church in Czech Republic in St John's URC Church. Film about three female African-American mathematicians who play a pivotal role in astronaut John Glenn's launch into orbit. Meanwhile, they also have to deal with racial and gender discrimination at work. Screening starts at 8pm with refreshments from 7.30pm.

Community Screening: Green Border

Modern Films has organised a screening of GREEN BORDER followed by a community panel at The Lexi Cinema - Barnet on the 20th of June which will be a great way to discuss the themes shown in the film, and perhaps inspire a call to action. This award-winning film draws on the real experiences of refugees journeying through the primaeval forest on the Polish-Belarusian border in order to seek asylum. Holland exposes the corruption that lies at the heart of Europe and the refugees caught up in the political turmoil.
