Refugee Week Exhibition
Even as thousands of people die attempting to seek sanctuary from war, the popular media demonise refugees and migrants. Day-Mer Turkish and Kurdish Community centre seeks to counter this negative message and through this photography exhibition will bring to life the lived experience of refugees both in the UK and from around the world. Enfield Council are supporting Day-Mer's 28th Arts and Culture Festival in conjunction with Refugee Week to raise awareness of the plight of refugees and foster solidarity between people of all faiths and ethnicities. Barnet Commons – Old and New (Walk 2)
London Festival of Architecture walk visiting Chipping Barnet historic centre and rambling through some of the lovely greenery that almost surrounds our town. This includes a visit the pioneering New Ground cohousing project for older women. It is an award-winning example of how to provide housing differently – and beautifully - and not normally open to the public.
