Free Children Activity Day at St John the Baptist Barnet Church
SPRING FUN at St. John the Baptist Church, Barnet. We are happy to announce: Children Activity Day will be on Thursday 11th April 2-4pm, packed with lots of fun activities and games: • Decorating flower pots with name labels and stickers • Planting up runner beans and/or sunflower seeds • Bread making • Making a second banner for children’s chapel • Colouring pictures and word games • Games • Story time • Snack time

Tonight is a fun evening with a Quiz, some light snacks and convivial conversation. Come and find out more about what we're doing at Tudor Park and the future of the Maws Pavilion. There's a short (and I mean short) AGM (a legal formality) at 7pm where we'll briefly report on our activities and a bit more about us. It's free and open to all. The Quiz is set for 7:30pm and MUST be booked in advance so we know numbers. Tickets are £12 each and include light snacks. There's also a raffle as being a Charity we're fundraising for…

Barnet Classic Car Show
The event starts with a parade of classic cars along the High Street in High Barnet at 10.30am. The cars will then be on display on the top floor of the Britannia car park in The Spires Shopping Centre until 3.00pm. There will be around 120 classic cars and also a few classic motorcyces. The 2024 Show will include a special display of Lotus cars to celebrate Barnet's link with the brilliant founder of Lotus Cars, namely Colin Chapman. Local singer, Katie Oldham, along with Down2Earth will provide music during the event. Attendance is free for spectators.

Community Screening: Green Border
Modern Films has organised a screening of GREEN BORDER followed by a community panel at The Lexi Cinema - Barnet on the 20th of June which will be a great way to discuss the themes shown in the film, and perhaps inspire a call to action. This award-winning film draws on the real experiences of refugees journeying through the primaeval forest on the Polish-Belarusian border in order to seek asylum. Holland exposes the corruption that lies at the heart of Europe and the refugees caught up in the political turmoil.

Come and visit Tudor Park and enjoy live music, informative talks on the local area and environment throughout the day, stalls and food vendors. This is the second year we have run the festival and the object is for a fun day out for people in the local community, but also to heighten awareness of the project to renovate, refurbish and restore the currently derelict and delapidated 104 year old Maws Pavilion in the Park. There'll be childrens' activities including model making, face painting and a Have-A-Go Zone. There's a Martial Art demonstration and as Medieval History demonstration as well…

The free East Barnet Festival in lovely Oak Hill Park is back this year on 29th and 30th June. On the evening of 28th there will be music, food and a bar. Throughout the week-end there will be a funfair, bands, choirs, loads of stalls, twelve different types of catering, crazy golf, a bar and arena activities. The dog show takes place on the Saturday and the car show on the Sunday. Lots to do and see.
