At the far end of Greenhill Parade opposite the Barnet Everyman is almost certainly Barnet’s finest butchers. The company run by the Dunmore family moved to the current location thirteen years ago after about 50 years in Whetstone. They are particularly known for their aged Scotch beef and wide range of game, along with dry cured bacon, home cooked ham, gourmet sausages (made with natural casings) and spit roast chickens. They also stock a range of biltong which is sliced to order (and one of our daughter’s favourite snacks).
The business includes a broader wholesale arm, but the shop is run in a personable way and the brothers Ray and Ian and their staff are forthcoming with cooking tips and serving advice.
