Make It Your Business comes to Barnet

Setting up your own business is always a daunting prospect, especially for women, but some useful local inspiration is coming up on 1st March at the Make It Your Business seminar at The Bull Theatre.

Make It Your Business is a not for profit venture founded by Alison Cork in 2017 to encourage and support women to run their own businesses. Statistics reveal that only 20 per cent as many women as men run their own business, but women are more likely to succeed when they do.

Too often the reasons behind this discrepancy are lack of confidence, support and female role models and this is where MYIB comes in. MIYB runs seminars around the UK, comprising a panel of local female entrepreneurs who tell their stories and answer questions. It’s completely free to join MIYB and they offer all sorts of mentoring and advice to keep our members motivated.

Their first seminar in Chipping Barnet will be moderated by Gail Laser of Love Barnet with Theresa Villiers MP on hand to say a few words. The plan is to develop a networking group of local female entrepreneurs with a couple of social events each year.

The panel will consist of Paige Sinnott who owns and runs Odette Beauty, Karen Wright who owns and runs Love Feet, Laura Milligan, designer and owner of Laura Felicity interiors and homewares and Mandy Kent founder of Hadley Green Dental Practice.

It’s a chance to meet a mentor, learn how to grow your business and share your experiences and ideas. Looking at the picture below of a previous seminar, it should be a friendly and inspiring evening. We look forward to seeing you there.

Tickets cost £10 and please register online here.
