Love Barnet Sunday pop-up craft fayres

As you’ve guessed, here at High Living we love to keep things local. Out and about last Sunday I managed to pick up several stylish Christmas gifts from the Love Barnet pop-up shop.

This organisation is energetically run by local resident Gail Laser and has a great track record rejuvenating the High Street. Two years ago it set up Number 89 showcasing local arts and crafts which evolved into Room 89 around the corner in Union Street. It was also responsible for Tea Station café and Billy and Betty gift shop in The Spires. Gail and the team have now turned their attention to weekly craft fayres in the run up to Christmas.

Bentley Hertfordshire kindly agreed to host these events and the well-exposed, airy location works brilliantly. Different traders have been present each week and last week there was interesting and varied selection of goods on offer ranging from Julie Eve Designs, Slumbering Hound, Hearts of Glass, Laura Felicity Design, Onion Studio, jewellery by Brenda Mitchell and much more. Each week many items were hand-made, one-off pieces.

You can catch the final fayre this Sunday and we’ve just heard that another is planned for Sunday 12th February at the same venue. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for more as it would be great if this could become a regular seasonal event. It makes shopping such a pleasure.
